Have you ever dropped a care package off to a friend going through a break-up, organised a nature walk with a pal, or made a healthy juice for a sick partner? Well, we’re here to tell you that there’s a name for what you’re doing, it’s called Acts of Wellness and it’s a new term brought to you by Swisse.

Now, we know what you’re thinking; ‘isn’t what I’m doing just an ‘Act of Service’? Ah, but this where you’re mistaken, my friend. While Acts of Wellness is inspired by Gary Chapman’s ‘The Five Love Languages’, our official definition is:

‘Expressing love through intentional actions that support the people around you and their physical, mental, or emotional wellbeing’.

So, while filling up your partner’s petrol tank is an Act of Service, booking them an exercise class that fills up their mental tank is an Act of Wellness. Get it? Great, because it turns out you’re not the only one.

In fact, in a recent survey, 73% of Australians said they’re adopting Acts of Wellness to keep both platonic and romantic relationships alive*. So, not to toot our own horn, but we reckon we’re onto something.

The Sixth Love Language Explained

Acts of Wellness is officially the Sixth Love Language, brought to you by Swisse. We know all of us can level up how we show our loved ones we care, so move over dinner reservations and flowers, 2025 is the year of functional TLC.

How do I start giving an Act of Wellness?

Call us biased, but nothing says “I love you” like a thoughtfully chosen supplement. Not sure where to start? Check out our suggested love language and product pairings below.

1. PHYSICAL TOUCH
Back rubs, slow stretches, shared naps on the couch; Magnesium is the muscle-lover’s best friend. Keep the cuddles going, cramp-free.

2. WORDS OF AFFIRMATION
Compliments hit harder when your brain is switched on. Keep your mind sharp and your sweet talk even sharper with Focus Nootropics.

3. QUALITY TIME
Whether it’s movie night or a long overdue catch-up, nothing ruins the vibe like a restless mind. Calm your thoughts so you can stay present with Ashwagandha Calm+.

4. GIFT GIVING
A glow-up in a jar. A Hyaluronic Water Cream that hydrates, pampers, and says “I saw this and thought of you.”

5. ACTS OF SERVICE
Helping out with the heavy lifting- literally. Support your bones and muscles with Vitamin D Gummies so you can keep being that person who just gets the jobs done.

6. NEW: ACTS OF WELLNESS
You can’t look after others if you’re running on empty. Zinc+ supports a healthy immune system that will help keep you and your loved ones healthy and happy.

Well, there you have it, the sixth love language has been alive and well all along - now you've got an official name to chalk your Acts of Wellness up to!
