Sustainability at Swisse

SUSTAINABILITY

As a business creating products with a vision to make millions of people healthier and happier, we are committed to the continual progress of our efforts in sustainability and environmental impact reduction.

OUR IMPACT

OUR IMPACT

From procurement to finance, packaging technology to visual identity, from people and culture to global affairs, from innovation to product development - reducing our environmental impact is an important mission that is in the hands of all of us at Swisse.

Through packaging innovation trials, rigorous supplier policies and creative ingredient sourcing, we are using our best assets; passion, creativity and a thirst for achievement, to steer ourselves towards better.

KEEPING OUR RECEIPTS

KEEPING OUR RECEIPTS

What we use in electricity consumption in our head office, our energy provider matches with renewable energy. This offset initiative involves purchasing and retiring renewable energy certificates, which results in net zero carbon emissions associated with our electricity consumption.

PACKED WITH INNOVATION

Introducing sustainable packaging, particularly in our industry, is complex, and we’ve faced a few challenges in our journey...

Product stability: newer biodegradable or compostable packaging can have a short shelf life or a poor oxygen/moisture barrier, meaning that sometimes, the most sustainable packaging is not always the best choice.

Lack of availability: many material innovations are still in development or not available locally. PCR (post-consumer recycled) material supply for example hasn't fully matured.
However, our team is committed to sustainable packaging and is constantly looking for and trialling new and innovative packaging solutions.

WELLNESS CHATS

LESS IS MORE

We’re on a mission to remove any non-essentials elements from our product and packaging. By reducing the spare room or 'head space' in our vials we’ll save on packaging, and by reducing the weight, there will be a corresponding reduction in the emissions from our supply chain.

You’ll begin to notice changes from 2024, first in our Magnesium range and later for our Vitamin D range.

A MOVE TO IMPROVE

In November 2022, our Melbourne team moved into its new head office in the inner-city suburb of Collingwood. We took the office move as an opportunity to downsize and adopt as many sustainable initiatives as possible.

We're by no means finished, but here's a snapshot of what we've done so far.
