Neptune Krill Oil (Euphausia superba)
Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) is sourced sustainably from the southern ocean around the Antarctic continent.
A study to evaluate the effects of NKO on chronic inflammation and arthritic symptoms clearly indicated that a daily dose of 300mg of NKO (as found in the recommended dosage of Swisse Ultiboost Joints) reduces arthritic symptoms within a short treatment period of 7 to 14 days.
NKO is high in omega-3 fatty acids EPA & DHA. They exist as a unique phospholipid bilayer; this results in high bioavailability, bioeffectiveness and stability. EPA and DHA in NKO are 55% more bioavailable than in the triglyceride form (as found in fish oils).
NKO contains a unique antioxidant, astaxanthin. Astaxanthin has a high antioxidant rating - 34 times greater than co-enzyme Q10!
NKO is derived from shellfish so is not suitable for those with a shellfish allergy.
